Yey to another completed project! There's something I feel I can't explain the moment I'm taking after photos of a project --something between the lines of happy, excited, relieved, contented. Happy 'coz the client is happy. Excited 'coz I'll have another final photos to show. Relieved that the project went well. Contented 'coz of all of the above.
The Newlyweds' First Pad is your typical studio unit here in Manila. (read: SMALL) It will just snuggly fit a double bed, a small sofa, and a small dining area. Yeah, lots of "small" in this paragraph, but I didn't exaggerated one bit. Here are where their at when I first saw the space...
Read more about the space, the plans, and the thoughts behind the project here.
MOODBOARD
AFTER
Foyer area with shoe storage underneath.
Facing the main door
View from the main door
(with the shades down to hide the aircon)
(shades up)
The wall gallery
I made the 1 8 11 "art" and the silhouettes to add to the mix. Adding other elements to a wall gallery gives it more personality, and admit it, it's more fun that way.
Living area
The colorful striped rug is actually 3 bath mats that are sewn together. Can't seem to find a nice fun normal rug for the space. Everything are gray, brown, old world floral, weird geometrics, shaggy. So when I saw these mats, I knew it would work.
The "bedroom"
The closet acts as a divider to create a semi-enclosed feel for the bed, plus we added storage underneath the bed.
Dining bar
The gray from the countertop, the couch, and 1 8 11 art relates to each other and makes the space cohesive. You might not notice but we also painted the highest part of the ceiling a shade of gray. (See photo of the kitchen)
TV - the only manly thing in this space.
Their cousin even joked that it's just because their Newlyweds that the husband is tolerating the girliness. Haha..
Kitchen
Living / bedroom / dining / kitchen: All-in-one.
Our very special guest: Anne Hathaway. See, even she is happy with the result!
I wish I had those wide-angle lens to capture this place in its entirety. But I will get those kind of photos soon. A professional photographer shot this space for a magazine feature. Another yey! If you follow me on twitter or facebook, then you already probably knew that, since I can't keep it mum when I'm excited.
WOOHOOOO! <---- very much like that.
So the 1 million dollar question is, if you're the husband, would you mind having a home like this? :)
P.S. Kudos to you R, you made your wife really happy. hahaha
