Crossings Home: Look # 1

I've shared my styling project for Crossings Home here, but I haven't revealed the final looks yet as per client's request. I'll be revealing them one at a time when it's already out. Well I was checking facebook today and saw that they updated their cover photo with one of the looks. Really excited to see it! This is one of the two more glamorous looks. We did 5 layouts and I can't for all of them to come out. :)

Come Home to Style...

Framed-up

If you have been reading this blog, you would have known by now about my love affair with frame gallery walls. It's a plus that my clients are requesting that feature so I'm literally doing what I love.. Haha. Here are some of my favorite works:

I'll be installing another one of these for a girl's room very soon and I can't wait.

I have a couple more projects that I'm dying to share. And I will soon once I get my messy sched figured out. I wish this week have 9 days in it, but again, not complaining! :)

HO of the day: Right kind of Pop

This is one of the freshest home office I've seen. Those framed prints are simple, easy to DIY, and looks great! Black floors, yellow chair, hot pink (red?) storage closet, and a huge pop art - everything came together perfectly. If you're afraid to paint but want color in your place, this is the way to go.

Elle Daily: This Aisle

The other day, i dropped by CW home depot to buy some cabinet handles. I spend a lot of time in this particular aisle. On some days, it can be almost an hour. You can find me walking back and forth a lot of times looking thoroughly at each handle, and looking far away. I was actually having a mental photo of how that handle would look like with the project's closet/drawer doors. Repeat that process 8 times and then i can finally make a decision. Haha

And while i'm it, i always take a glimpse of this handle. I love the shape. I love the gold. I imagine this in my future kitchen. :)

Some thing like this. But in gold.

Or like this. But in that shape.

I just hope that it's still available when the time finally comes that i can build my kitchen.

All about the Kids: New project

This project is quite special. I'm doing children's room! Room for two boys and another one for a girl.
My client decided its about time to renovate since they're expecting a baby girl. She can't stay with the boys, so their office will be converted to a nursery. But of course, the boys got to have a brand new room as well! :)

Here's the boys room before:

The plan
interior design mood board, boys room
Since the space is small, a bunk bed is the best options for the two boys. Lots of storage is a must as well so under the bed drawers and dressers will be built.

Other side of the room:
We'll be putting a desk for two. The color scheme is gray, deep blue, with orange accents. We wanted it to be kid friendly but not too childish- a room that can grow with them.

The other room we're doing is their office that we'll turn into a nursery.

Here's the plan:
The client wanted a real bed for the long haul. They'll be temporarily placing a small crib somewhere for now. So this project is more of little girl's bedroom rather than a nursery.

The other side
I saw a great paisley fabric with pink and lime accent. It will look gorgeous as drapes in this bedroom. The closet doors will have a painted faux molding to give them a little detail. Pale aqua walls, pink, white, lime, and gray accents. This will be cute!

Be posting progress soon.

Elle Daily: I bought a Peacock for 300 pesosessss

So I've been so late when it comes to mobile blogging. I just got this app so I can blog straight from the ipad. Woohoo! I can now instantly snap photos and share. I sound like a technology virgin sounding so excited with something that has been going on for years. Haha.. But what I'm most excited about is this app means more posts. I will now share tidbits of my daily life in real time (if that even interest you haha), thus "Elle Daily."

Since I was so excited about this, I'm blogging now through the app even when I'm here in my bed just a few feet from my laptop. We can call this a test run.
Back to the peacock, I so love it!

While checking out a Japan Surplus store with the BF, I spotted this thing and fell in love, dust and all. I fell even more in love when I saw the price tag. 300 pesosesss! It's just a framed fabric, but still.. It's beautiful. I haven't seen that kind of fabric here so the price is so worth it.

The first thing I did when I got home was hang that thing. It will now watch over me as I take the measly 2 hour nap right about now. Goodnight peacock!

Woods are Pretty. Really.

After living my whole life with dark cherry varnished wood as a foyer table, dining set, china cabinet, and other dark brownish stuff, I kinda sworn off wood. I just wanted to lighten things up and use bright bright bright! (if you dare, see our house before photos here)

But, yes there's a big BUT, (I've got big but and I can not lie.. haha..)  recently, I'm really drawn to wooden stuff. Not those varnished glossy ones, but the reclaimed rustic look. They are just pretty. It's warm, it adds texture, it's interesting.

The different tones in this wall are amazing.

Look at how different treatment of woods (walls and floors) look together. Yes people. you can mix all kinds of woods!

The warm tones looks great with yellow accents.

Charming as a sink vanity table. I love!

Actually planning to strip some of our furniture and keep it raw, like this one.

The table is great, but the ceiling.. oh the ceiling...

Again, different type of woods, all in one cute room.

And yes, they work well with modern pop arts as well.

I'm a convert. I love them. I want them. If there's one thing I learned, don't generalized things. I hated the glossy dark varnished furniture we had, and thought all wooden stuff are awful. These photos proved me wrong. Soo wrong.
