HO of the day: Bold and Beautiful

OH. MY.

My heart dropped when I saw this photos. Gorgeousness are in all nooks of this room- the brick walls, wood beams, bold prints & colors, pretty chandelier. It even has a lot of table space to spread out which  I love.  If I had an extra room for an office, I want it to look like this. Though I doubt I'll have bricks and beams in there.. I sooo wish! haha

All about the Kids: Girl's Room Big Reveal

This room is for the baby sister of the two boys who own this other room here. It was formerly their office slash storage space. But when they found out that another little one is on the way, it's time for a big change.

From burnt orange and dark browns to light blue and bright pink.

It's quite a small room so we have to make the most out of the space. Since the other closet in this room were used as an extended closet for mom and dad, we need to build another one for the baby, and that nook is the perfect space for it.

They already own this dresser so we just painted it to fit right into the rooms decor. I love the fabric I found for the curtains, it's a fun pink and lime paisley print that totally compliments the blue walls.

We replaced the closet doors with sliding ones and painted a decorative molding so it won't look too flat. I actually like to paint it lime to tie in with the curtain, but the client wanted the option to change curtains down the road and not worry if it will look good with the space. So we used the wall color to paint the faux molding. Still works! :)

That bed was from the other room before, and since they now have the new bunk beds, we just painted it pink and reused it here. We also used the matching side table but painted it a different color to avoid the matchy-matchy look. 

The only new furniture here is this rocker chair. And no, its not a miniature, it just look so tiny beside the dresser. Haha..

Just some cuteness to make you smile. 

What room of mine is complete without some sort of frame gallery? Haha.. No, I don't actually recommend it every single time to a client, they just so happen to like it and request to have them. Who am I to say no? :)

Baby photos, bright beach images, pages from children's book, pattern paper, and the baby's initials to personalized the room. 

I'm sure by this time you are wondering.. "Where is the crib???" Well.. the client doesn't want to build the room around a crib 'coz it will not be a permanent feature. So we used the bed instead and made the future room of the little girl. :)

There you go, my very first kids' room. I wanted everything to be young looking and but not too overly childish that it would look silly when they grow older. In times like this where everyone is too busy to do room makeovers every now and then, I think this is the way to go to make sure the room will grow with the child.

All about the Kids: Boys' Room Big Reveal

This project is my first rooms for kids. I did one room for the boys, and another one for a girl. And obviously, based on the title above, this reveal is for the little dudes. We're doing a little more grown-up version of kids room. It's young for now, but it will grow with them as they get older. 

A desk where they can do homework, and probably the desk where they'll learn facebook. Haha

Blue-gray walls, deep blue doors and cornice, white elements, and orange accents. 

The sigle bed they had before won't do it for two young boys...

So we made a bunk bed for them to share. 

We once had a bunk bed, and I got the top one, it was fun!

The wobbly and outdated closet doors were changed to...

a more modern and sleek design.

If you don't have that much floor space, sliding doors are the way to go.

Since the room is small and they were lacking in storage, we put drawers everywhere -- two free standing ombre drawers, under the bed, the desk, inside the closet.

I once shared a room with my brothers way back then (only girl so no sister to share it with). The experience is both annoying and fun. Annoying since they don't have anyone else to pick on but me, and fun 'coz we get to share bedtime stories. I wouldn't want it any other way. But I wouldn't want it any other way now, I love my privacy! haha...

The point of my somewhat reminiscent blabber is I hope that these two young ones get to enjoy their time together in this room. I'm hoping for bedtime exchange of stories of their day, their crush (that would be later on mommy.. hehe), and moments that would make them much closer.

HO of the day: Lime Love

Hello freshness! This is in one corner of a bedroom yet it feels like a very separate office space. Maybe its the way the desk was placed segregating this corner for that purpose. You can do that too.

Loving the lattice wall paper, and that lime really pops against all the white. A bright color against white is a sure way to add excitement to any room. And yes, the desk is gorgeous! Petite, but gorgeous.

House of Femme: Bedroom Big Reveal!

Here's the second part of the House of Femme big reveal --the bedroom! You can check out living/dining reveal here. When I saw my client's pinterest board for her home inspiration, I got really excited because we have a very similar taste, which makes everything a lot easier.

The bedroom started out like this:

They already stripped it out of their old stuff and is very much ready for construction.

We have segregated the space in three functional spaces: work, media/vanity, and sleep.

Got this gold ornate mirror for a steal. 

This bed was custom-made. I wanted a very high bright teal headboard that is both glamorous and fun. 

Had an x molding design for all the built-ins just to amped up the chicness. Its easy to update plain furniture, you can do that detail to any plain cabinet doors and it will instantly look custom.

The vanity was built with storage on both sides to store all the make-up a girl needs, and more! I wish I had that much storage.

Love the desk space and all her cute knick knacks, and that persian rug mouse pad is awesome. I want one! I hope there are other rug designs for this. If I can't have a nice patterned real rug, I must have at least this one! haha 

All chairs in this room are old chairs they had that we had refinished and reupholstered. See their previous look here. 

That mirrored armoire on the left were also custom-built.

Another reused item from their old home: crystal chandelier.

Color scheme is obviously teal, yellow, cream, white, and gold. Don't be afraid to mix colors, they give life to a room! Sure, there are a lot of pretty white and monochromatic rooms out there, but I'm a full pledged color advocate so go ahead and give it a try. :)
